Sunken City 04:40
In an ancient submarine, on a deep-sea trip In a sea of tourmaline, under the waves Looking for the triple ring, round a mountain top Looking for a sunken city, under the waves Chorus: Sunken city, come to me Sunken city, Atlantis Sunken city, will always be Sunken city, Atlantis Following the ancient clues, in a madman's book Guided by the obscure lines, under the waves Chorus Guitar solo I can see the sacred plain, on the mountain top I can see the three canals, under the waves Chorus: Sunken city, came to me Sunken city, Atlantis Sunken city, will always be Sunken city, Atlantis (x2) yeah! Sax solo

She talked about politics, I talked about guitars She was studying medicine, I talked about guitars She studied at university Talked with people who were cleverer than me She had a really good conversation but I talked about guitars Yes I talked about guitars Could have talked about something else but I didn't Could have listened to what she said but I didn't She tried to talk about capitalism She tried to talk about terrorism She tried to talk about religious schism But I talked about guitars Yes I just talked about guitars Solo! She talked about bakery, I talked about guitars We went to the movies, I talked about guitars Then when her uncle passed away He left a Gibson for her to play Now she talks about Les Pauls Won't say anything else at all Won't hear a word about Telecasters But we both talk about guitars Yes we both talk about guitars

Have some pie, at the table Reach for the photo box Look at the faces Chorus: Stolen memories, or are they mine? Forgotten melodies, sung out of time I try to anchor time and place To a name and to a face But it's just too much Too much to remember Chorus I remember when we met I remember my first pet I remember matching coats The old farm and the crazy goat Chorus
4.
Boogaloo 03:56
Chorus: She does that boogaloo, boys She turns the menfolk into toys She does that boogaloo, boys She makes men shiver She's long and tall with witchy hair Her coven isn't far from here, not far As the crow does fly She lives way out here in the woods Far from any luxury goods, no, no No luxury goods out here in the woods Chorus All day long I earn my pay Go home each night the same old way, except for once I took a different path I wandered down a shady road Found her house by the trail of toads that glowed You know, they once were men Chorus Sax solo Chorus Banjo solo
5.
Sitting at the truckstop At 3AM this morning I ordered up a big old mess o' beans The waitress took my tip And she caused my heart to flip That's when I met the lovely Lurlene Chorus: Lurlene Your tattoos are astounding Lurlene You set my heart a-pounding Lurlene Every trucker knows There's no finer little diner The word is out, the secret is revealed So I stopped in for to buy A bucket full of chicken I fell in love before the fat congealed Chorus Solo Now if you've got a thing For a plate of buffalo wings Or coffee that's as strong as gasoline You should take my good advice And head for that little old diner But keep your filthy hands off my Lurlene Chorus: Lurlene Your tattoos are astounding Lurlene You set my heart a-pounding Lurlene Well I love your cinnamon buns Lurlene I'll let you shoot my gun Lurlene
6.
Playing in towns that all start to look the same Sleeping in the van is all part of the game Chorus: To get to the top, you've got to use the right channels To get to the top, you've got to work the angles Waking in the evening, feel like going to bed Adrenaline kicks, and we all start rocking instead Chorus Gratuitous, yet mercifully short, guitar solos Well now, we thank this crowd for rocking with us Thank you! Thank you! Soon we'll all be loading the tour bus Tour bus! Tour bus! Chorus

I'm calling time on all your promises I've packed a lightweight travelling trunk I'll track your scent through pine-filled forests Emerging slowly from my funk Cos I'm going home To the long white cloudy hills I'm calling time Time to ring that bell It's closing time Everyone's gone It's time to ring that bell Oh ring, ring that bell for me What did you say when we met last time? Oh yeah, you said "you're a flippin' mess!" Well I've tidied up, but I'll never be Ticking boxes, just to pass a test Cos I'm going home To the long white cloudy hills I'm calling time Time to ring that bell Cos life isn't meant to fit in a box It always spills over the side Oh ring, ring that bell for me So take my hand, take my favourite mug Take my fifteen top CDs Let's fill a box with our emptiness Pack it away, and go and have some fun Cos you and me, were meant to be It's time to ring that bell Oh ring, ring that bell for me

Huh! Uh! Bing Turkby Huh! Meaningless drivel Fools can try to change my mind, that's OK They can call me extra-light, that's OK I'll just play my guitar I've been alright so far I'm 9 to 42 I'm 9 to 42 I'm 9 to 42 How bout you? Listen they say now SRV used telephone wire, I don't care EVH likes baling twine, I don't care I'm still loud as all Hell You'll hear my notes quite well I'm 9 to 42 I'm 9 to 42 I'm 9 to 42 How bout you? Let me hear you now Extra-light, it's alright (9 to 42) Extra-light, it's alright (9 to 42) Extra-light, it's alright (everybody now, 9 to 42) Extra-light, it's alright 9 to 42.

Settle down, take the cup Say your cheers, yeah, drink it up Say your cheers, cry your tears Come the morning you're leaving here Take your coat, yeah take your boots Here's the piper and here's the lute The lutenist plays, the gentleman pays Come the morning you'll be on your way Threatened by evil You are our champion! Take him our answer Vanquish the Necromancer He can turn into a tree Causing lesser men to flee But you're the village champion Vanquish him! Vanquish him! Vanquii-iiish him! Evil walks within the land The Necromancer shall die by your hand And it won't be long now (Semi-harmonised guitar solo)

about

This album represents a hop, a step and a herculean leap for the Bing Turkby Ensemble, as we took the drastic decision to record in a proper studio (The Stomach, Palmerston North, NZ) for a change.

The magic ears of engineer Nigel Mauchline ensured a much bigger, brighter, betterer sound for the rhythm tracks. These tracks were then taken back to the dim lair of TurkbyTone Rekkids Studio B (for Bing), where multiple overdubs were perpetrated upon them.

Afterwards, we went back, cap in hand, to Nigel and asked him to see if he could make them sound good again.

To say we're pleased with the results would be an understatement. To say that we pooped gold bricks of joy would be tantamount to hyperbole. To say this is the end of this paragraph would be very accurate.
