about

Music is a life-force which pervades our bodies, our minds and our duodenums. (Duodena?). I undertook a meta-musical journey of discovery and brought back these hand-hewn nuggets of life-giving tunery, which I now offer to you all, to increase harmony and happiness throughout the land. I also send it swooshing merrily through the ocean, and wiggling jauntily through the airwaves.

Playing music is something that helps me get through life, and this EP is a set of four instrumental tunes which reflect that.
The story goes like this:

Track 1: Puffs of Cloud. This tune sets the scene of waking in the morning and looking up to the sky, wondering what the day will bring.

Track 2: Pax Fomoriana. Originally this was about a battle from Irish mythology, between the Fomorians and the Tuatha de Danaan. Now it serves to represent anxiety or stress that comes upon you during the day. The title is a play on the phrase Pax Romana, and the subsequent Pax Britannica, and Pax Americana, which in my mind always means something like "a peace sustained by the threat of overwhelming force".

Track 3: Instrumental Health. This is the part where you've survived the day and you get to go home and play your guitar! The sheer joy of it. Thank goodness for the sweet relief to be found in playing music.

Bonus: Track 4: The Price of Thinking [is having to act]. This is me talking to myself, really. There are big issues that concern me, and I think about them a lot. But what will I actually do about them?
